Osvaldo Pedro Pugliese was a talented composer of Argentine Tango music and a great pianist. He developed dramatic arrangements that retained strong elements of the walking beat of salon tango but also heralded the development of concert-style Tango music. He was born in Villa Crespo, just outside of Buenos Aires on December 2, 1905 and died in Buenos Aires on July 25, 1995. His wonderful compositions and many arrangements for Tango music are still being played wherever Argentine Tango is danced worldwide.
